Project details
An old industrial building owned by the client was re-developed into a suitable manufacturing facility to relocate his growing business to. Maven design and observed construction of the drainage, carpark, retaining walls, heavy duty concrete truck access, Overland Flowpath.
Challenges: Large overland flowpath needed improvement to mitigate existing flooding of the old building. This was successfully designed by Maven and constructed by Haydn + Rollett.
All of the drainage works involved excavation into rock as this site is located on some of Mt Edens Basalt. The truck access and new carpark required stormwater treatment, for which Maven designed a separate SW system from the new roof water system. The new building constructed on site is 1.5Ha in size, which is in addition to the 6500m2 of truck yard and 199 space carpark.
The timeframe to get all of this done was quite compressed. Demolishing of old buildings on site started August/September 2018 , earthworks and drainage completed December 2018. Carpark and truck access work continued whilst the new tilt slab building was being constructed, all sealing works and building was final by August 2019.
